Sometimes the littlest details are what make your favorite earrings, well, your favorite earrings. These rectangular polymer clay earrings are full of subtle details: the slight convex curve in the middle of their rectangular shape, the contrast between the shiny copper foil and the matte mint acrylic pigment, the custom wire finding attaching each rectangle to the ear wires. These are the ones to wear when you're in the mood to stop and look closer at the little things in life.

SIZE: Approx. 3.25 in. long (including brass-tone ear wires). Approx. .5 in. wide. (Illustrated model in last photo is life-sized; last image shows earrings to scale).

MATERIALS: I created these by rolling out thin sheets of purply polymer clay, folding and forming to create a raised shape, applying copper leafing in an irregular, random pattern, embellishing with mint acrylic pigment, sealing, and fastening each earring to a french hook with an arc of copper wire. The bottom edges of the earrings are left intentional raw and imperfect: a slight notch missing from the bottom of one rectangle adds to the abstract charm of these earrings. These earrings will move and catch the light when you wear them!

CARING FOR YOUR JEWELRY: To enjoy your polymer clay art jewelry for years to come, please remove before swimming, bathing, playing sports, spinning hula hoops around your neck, or any other vigorous activity. Polymer clay is sturdy; however, sudden impact or submersion in water can damage this handmade item.
