This is titled: NATURE LOVER. Please utilize the zoom feature to see details. Measures 26" wide by 33" high. Base is an older linen with floral embroidery. On this base, I collaged scads of elements, mostly vintage, creating this scene. "Daisy" is the hero: she is holding a basket full of things she has collected in the outdoors, including shells and twigs. A bird is on her shoulder; she has a red feather in the cap which says "Daisy" on it. She is standing in her crewel embroidered gazebo surrounded by flowers, embroidery, chintz roses, fruit, cherries, etc. At top is a fragment from a vintage apron: I used the ties as the ominous sky, yet there are blue clouds (lace) appearing and the sunset is in pink and yellow hues (there is a lot of free motion stitching in the sky in these colours). There is a handmade batik sun, the words GARDEN on righthand side, silk butterfly, my autobiographical element: a snippet on lefthand side from a California textile (see the N-I-A). The word LOVER in Scrabble letters. On bottom, I added a fragment / swag from a vintage house dress and more applique embroidery. Machine and hand sewing. Carries the "Random Scraps of Fabric" label and is signed by me, Bonny Gorsuch in Cannon Beach, Oregon, USA. Thank you for looking!--bonny g
