This is a one-of-a-kind quilted fabric postcard of giizis, which means sun in Ojibwemowin. This postcard is part of a series I've been working on to help bring back a bit of the language in everyday life.

This postcard was made by starting with a piece of batik fabric on fusible interfacing. I painted the lines of the background onto the fabric with Shiva Paintstiks. Then I embroidered the word "giizis" onto the piece. Finally, I cut out the shape of the "giizis and sewed it onto the poscard.

This postcard sends through the mail with a regular postage stamp.
Approximate size is 6" X 4".

This postcard will be sent USPS (5-7 days delivery).
