Vintage art deco / machine age style chrome and painted wood expanding spring scroll bookend. Cleverly designed metal roll curls out to snugly hold several books, or the wood block can act as a book support. Base stamped: Revere, Rome N.Y. U.S. Patent Design No. 95811. Circa early 1940's. Design attributed to Fred Farr, 1930's. In good vintage condition with some paint loss and wear to the wood.
