This pale yellow 100% linen scarf / shawl would make a most beautiful present and it's the perfect accessory for spring and summer. It is light and airy, yet provides you with that protection against the spring cold or a summer evening chill.

Flax is one of the oldest plants known to be made into fabric. Linen fabrics are very cool and absorbent, and the fibre is a lot stronger than cotton. Although crisp at first, with washing and drying (yes this garment can be thrown in the washing machine and dryer!) this will just become softer every time. The linen used here is spun from predominantly recycled content.

I've used a feather and fan lace pattern to make this scarf, using garter stitch to make this a reversible scarf. It is very long and can be worn as a scarf or as a shawl. Would match beautifully with a summer dress, or casually with a white T-shirt and jeans. It is a spring and summer must-have!

The measurements are 210 cm long (it reaches down to your waist when wrapped around your neck once for an average height person, I can shorten it if need be) and 30 cm wide. The last photo shows the linen I have in stock, but more colours are available, just let me know what you are after! I just finished the same scarf in tangerine orange: http://www.etsy.com/listing/97452139/tangerine-orange-recycled-linen-feather

A few little facts about linen (source: http://www.linenway.com/about/why_linen.htm):

- Flax is very eco-friendly to grow, using almost no pesticides
- Flax uses 5-20 times less water than growing conventional cotton
- During the growth process flax enriches rather than depletes the soil
- Linen is fully biodegradable
- Linen has antifungal and antibacterial properties and is naturally insect repellent
- When wet, linen becomes stronger and has a much greater longevity than cotton
