This punchboard is a very different shape from the traditional rectangular boards of the 1940's. Punchboards were featured in bars and stores as an early version of a lottery or game of chance. Put your quarter down and punch a hole in hopes of winning a prize.

The great Gil Elvegren drew this girl that appears to hide behind a book cover. The cover opens to reveal...the punchboard.

The punchboard has not been punched, but shows wear at the corners where the cover was flipped open and on the edges. A small part of the decal is missing from her foot. The book section measures about 3 1/2" x 5 1/2". The punchboard's full length is 8 1/4".

This is a great addition to a pin-up collection.
