In the year of 1989 my husband the shipwright went to work in Grays Harbor to help build the LADY Washington a square rig ship 100 feet long with a beam of 25' . Beautiful ! One of the perks from being with one of the shipwrights was the gift of sailing on her maiden voyage. When the Captain cried , " To your stations !" I was standing on the poop deck and told don't move . The only shot I had without interfering with the raising of the sails. That photo did not work ... too much exposure , but as a jumping off place for this painting , stunning.
The title of this piece is " Paul Henry" (the young man in the three corner hat)
