I present to you this handmade leather journal in natural sheepskin, aged, and blind tooled with an extract of the famous text of Henry David Thoreau:

***"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had (...) not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear..."***

... maybe you remember the film "Dead Poets Society"...

I have stitched the journal with raised bands, and I have bound it the cover on the spine, with a strong adhesive.

140 pages (counting one side) of good quality cream colour unlined 100 g of laid paper, which has the look and feel of handmade paper. It even has the grid of parallel translucent lines (“vergeures”) with handtorn and rasping edges. You can write or draw on it. It has FSC warranty.

The book also has endleaves in Japanese paper, clear and with long fibers, in chocolate colour.

Approximately 6.49" x 4.7" and 1.18" thick.

*** FREE: Each book is shipped with a beautiful packaging for a gift.

A special Meditatio Series: "SUMMUM", cause the "meditatio" (meditation) is blind tooled on the cover. Inspiration... from the beginning :)

And more...
MEDITATIO obviously means, "meditation", in latin, but also "through", "consideration", "deliberation"... and "to prepare for", for example, a mission or a project.
This simple binding, has been used to archiving the manuscripts since the middle age. Although originally was on parchment (a fact that it is thougt to come to the the islamic bookbinding), this hide-version used the raw edge on the flap, and raised bands on the spine.
