Momma and Baby Cat Papoose Zoomorphic Jar by Jill Taylor Original Art Sculpture Vessel

Momma kitty walking out in the woods. She is wearing her white gown with rustic shawl over her shoulders to keep her warm, and has her baby in her back pack.

Here is another in my series of little animal jars. A la Beatrix Potter and A.A. Milne, these little creatures take us on a flight of fancy to a magical realm where animals talk and go about in royal robes. If you are looking for a gift for someone or a treat for yourself, these are perfect gifts for bringing a smile to the face. They appeal especially to those who love animals. These little vessels can be purely decorative or some small precious keepsake or memorabilia can be placed inside them. Some people use them to keep a remembrance of a beloved lost pet.

This one is extra special because both heads are fully moveable. The back pack could hold a precious keepsake, something tiny. The momma body could hold much more. Measures about 10 inches tall.

They are not for holding liquids because they do not have a tight fitting lid. This is part of the design. They are an interactive sculpture where the head can be turned to change the expression, the baby stopper cannot be turned. The pictures try to give an example of the different ways they can look and feel.

These designs are one of a kind. I myself have searched and have yet to discover anything quite like them, here at Etsy or elsewhere. I draw my inspiration from the canopic jars of Egypt and have been developing jars and bottles with heads for over 20 years. They are magical even to me.

When they need to be cleaned just carefully wash them as you would any porcelain figurine and be careful not to drop or lose the heads.

Not for children due to choking hazard of the small head..
