These are beautiful Czech Snake Beads (trade beads) that were made from the early 1900's to the 1980's.

They measure 6mm in diameter, 2.5 mm in thickness, and the hole is 2mm. The strands are 26" - 28" in length. I will send you the longest strand I have in stock. You will receive the entire strand. These are in excellent condition.

Tribes such as the Asanti, Krobo, and Yoruba have a naturalistic faith, to the extent that they believe spirits accommodate any element of the earth. The snake bite is considered to be a bad omen, since many snakes are deadly. It is believed that someone can be cured of a poisonous bite if the snake is killed and its poison mixed with a concoction of hot milk, and a certain bone found in the back of the serpent's head place in the brew. The bone and mixture would be applied to the bite to draw out the poisonous impurities, replacing them with a substance that would aid healing. Some tribes still wear snake vertebrae for protection against snake bites and also as a protection from evil charms and ill fate.

Please take a look at the other Snake Beads I have listed.
