Vintage botanical illustrations by John Nugent Fitch, 1919, 3 old plates that would look beautiful framed. Was rescued from a damaged copy of Horwood's British Wild Flowers in their Natural Haunts. These plates depict "flowers of waste places, etc". Would look beautiful framed as a set or you could use them for altered art, collage, decoupage or mixed media art. I have left as much margin as possible around the plates to give you plenty of scope for trimming and matting. As well as the plates themselves you will receive the transparent paper overlays which give more detail about the flowers.
CONDITION: some light creasing and a few slight marks, some light edge discolouration. Most, but not all, of this is confined to the borders of the images. When matted and framed this will be hardly noticeable but in any case contributes to the vintage character of the plates. In nice, clean condition. Please zoom in to see more.
John Nugent Fitch was best known for his contribution to The Orchid Album; he was the nephew of the lithographer Walter Hood Fitch.
DIMENSIONS: 6 and 3 quarters of an inch/17cm by 10 and a quarter inches/26cm.
The pages you will receive are the actual vintage plates, not copies. No print on the reverse, so no difficult decisions to make:)
Will be sent in protected by a cello envelope and rigidly packaged to ensure they reach you without damage. No extra P&P charge for multiple purchases.
Rescued from a damaged book, just waiting for a new home to go to! Thanks for looking:)
IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ - I apologise for the recently raised postage prices for destinations outside the UK, this has been unavoidable due to the Royal Mail increases. I have worked out that I can send everything within the UK as a Large Letter so this is a saving but unfortunately this option does not exist for destinations outside the UK.
EXTRA ITEMS IN AN ORDER DON'T ATTRACT ANY INCREASE IN POSTAGE!
IF I HAVE OVER-CALCULATED POSTAGE I WILL ALWAYS REFUND YOU!
SHIPPING: all my items are shipped by the end of the next working day after receipt of payment and are very carefully packaged to protect them on their journey to you. I don't charge for my shipping materials, only for what I calculate the actual cost of shipping will be.
