This is a set of 6 white vintage napkins in very good condition. I wish I knew what to call the trim on these - it seems to be a ribbon-like design. Can anyone help me with this??!
The napkins measure about 14" square. They look like linen to me, but not the heavy linen of some old napkins - these are lighter weight. Maybe they are cotton.

PS: This is the worst description I have ever written. I guess I don't know what these napkins are, but they are beautiful. They need to be rescued by someone who knows more about them!

I love Etsy folks! I've been rescued from my ignorance on this by Robin at NolaCottage (http://www.etsy.com/shop/Nolacottage). Check out her shop. She says the trim is tape lace, sometimes called Battenburg lace. She thinks it was probably handmade in Italy early in the 20th century.
Robin also said they could be ironed carefully and that would show off the trim more. Well, I tried it on one that I am keeping and it's so true! I, however, am not going to iron the ones I am offering here. I'll leave that to you! Thanks again Robin! I added a photo that shows the ironed trim.
