There are not many Vera scarves from the 1960's left on the planet. And even fewer ones that are so Mod and collectible!
Here is one - from the period when Vera moved her studio and U.S. production into an old mansion near Woodstock, NY. The influence of the hippies in evident in many of her works from this time... her art became more pyschedelic, bohmeian and bodly Mod for about several years.
Vera's hands created this original painting, which was then transferred by hand in Japan onto the finest silk fabric. The design is Mod, abstract and definitely a more collectible work or art. The bright colors are bubble gum pink and coral red. Such a Vera combination!
Measures 23" square - the perfect size for wrapping your head, neck, wrist (for an unusual French-style bracelet) or even your purse straps (like all the Hollywood girls do). Expertly hand-rolled hems in fuchsia pink show the pride, quality and care that goes into a Vera scarf.
Made in Japan with Vera's fabulous blend of 40% silk and 60% rayon. It's strong, fine and has a smooth watery drape. Hand-rolled hems in contrasting black silk show the quality of a Vera scarf. Hand wash is best!
Excellent vintage condition.
