A stunning and unique elephant hair ring from the mid-eighteen century to 19th century era.
This ring is probably from the late 1800's. Elephant hair jewelry was a popular safari souvenir during the period of British rule in India. British hunters will go out to hunt and upon their return, they will make jewelry out of their elephants. This ring has three sections, the top and bottom are gold filled bands with a strand of elephant hair in the center. The ring is light weight and comfy to wear so I think the gold filled bands are hollow. Overall condition is excellent with very minimal tarnishing. (almost can't see any!)
