Gorgeous and elegant bib necklace that has a bohemian look. transitional style, Edwardian to Art Deco an Egyptian revival piece. Golden discs hang from three graduated strands. I believe the metal is pinchbeck, a kind of brass alloy designed to look like gold. If not, it is gilded brass. The brass clasp does not seem to be original, it is newer that the rest of the necklace but works well.

The length of the shortest strand is 17 inches. When this is worn, there is 2 1/2 inches between the top and bottom chains. Each disc is about 1/2 inch in diameter. The filigree pieces, which are actually stampings, measure about 1 inch by 3/4 of an inch.

The discs are covered with a wonderful texture that resembles very fine scales. The chunky rolo type chain is also textured with fine lines.

Weight is 1.8 ounces so this is a heavier piece that lays beautifully.

Minor surface wear and a light patina.

Made 1920s to 1930s. This would look great with a black dress or against bare skin during the summer.
