This World War 2 era lighter carries no name or manufacture branding to clearly identify it, though I'm pretty certain it was made in the United States. It's outer case is covered in a military green textured finish specifically chosen for military use. The olive drab color was used so soldiers could smoke covertly, reducing the likelihood of light reflecting off a polished metallic finish that could inadvertently disclosing their location in the field. And, the textured finish made the lighter easier to grip and hold in the trenches of battle. Though much more distinctive, this lighter works much like a Zippo. Just flip open the snuffer cap to expose the wick, then turn the side mounted spark wheel with your thumb. Flint and fluid are added from the base (see photo #5).

It looks like this lighter was barely used and it still works great! It will be shipped with a flint and without fluid. (Please do not store this lighter with the flint though, as it will deteriorate and become impacted over time.) I've unblocked the flint chamber, cleaned the file wheel, trimmed and tested the original wick, and replaced the fuel cap washer to ensure this antique lighter is in reliable working condition. Other than a few flaws in the original crackle finish, this light is in very good condition. I've provided high quality photos to offer the best preview of this lighter's condition. Please take a look and feel free to ask any questions.
