The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, unique mixed metal earrings in copper and sterling silver.

At 43 years old, journalist Jean - Dominique Bauby suffered a massive stroke and as a result was completely paralyzed with the exception of his left eye. His mental faculties were intact. The name of this condition is "locked - in syndrome". Jean - Dominique, dictating to his assistant by blinking his eye when she spoke the letter of the alphabet that he needed, wrote a book about his experience; The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. It was made into a film in 2007, directed by Julian Schnabel.

The earrings are sterling silver and copper. They hang 2 1/2" (6.35cm ) from the tops of the artisan sterling wires and are very light and delicate. They will be shipped USPS with domestic tracking and insurance included in the shipping price. I do use signature confirmation on orders over $100.
