Milkweed for Monarchs - Butterfly Garden Sign

Milkweed is the only food source for monarch butterfly larvae. If you want to do your part, plant some “Common Milkweed”, “Swamp Milkweed” or “Butterfly Milkweed" in your garden. The flowers have a lovely scent!

The garden sign is handmade with black vinyl on durable gold-marbled ceramic tile. Each sign is treated with several layers of protective coating to make it weather resistant. But like many plants (and people!) it will fare better if it’s kept out of the blazing summer sun! Wipe it clean and store it indoors in the winter.

Your purchase will be carefully wrapped using recycled materials (proud to do my small part). There are no prices on the signs. If your purchase is a gift, you won't need to unwrap the package if you don't want to.

In my garden, most of my signs are poked in among the plants.
I glue the stake(s) to the back with waterproof (permanent) glue. I’m careful not to force the stake(s) into the hard ground by preparing the area first. I also use a plastic plate stand to keep the sign above the soil and provide stability. This helps prevent squirrels from knocking it over and the sign stays put all summer!

I bring the sign in for the winter. Where I live, it would be covered in snow anyway! Then in the spring, I have the pleasure of finding a special spot for it.

In my garden, the "Milkweed for Monarchs" sign hangs on the fence near the tall plants.

Depending on how you will display the sign, you can choose one of these options at checkout:

1) Choose "AS IS – Tile Only" for just the tile.

2) Choose "Sawtooth Hanger" if you want to hang the sign, as shown in some photos. You can hang it on a post, fence, shed or barn. I'll attach it to back of the sign for you. You can add cornice hooks (L-shaped cup hooks visible in the fence photo) for added support.

3) Choose “Plate Stand” to display it on a flat surface. The 6" plastic plate stand (black or clear, depending on availability) will be packed separately with the sign.

4) Choose “Plate Stand/Stake(s)” to poke it among the garden plants while keeping it above the soil. These will be tucked in separately (“flat pack”) so you can attach the stake(s).

If you choose to hang in on a chain-link fence, you can use a heavy-duty plate hanger (available at the hardware store).

THE FINE PRINT:
Each marbled tile has its own natural shading/markings, giving it a unique character. The gold marbling is done by hand so each tile is one-of-a-kind !
