Hit-type cameras were tiny, tiny little cameras made after WWII in Japan. They shot 14x14mm negatives. The cameras became very popular, probably because they're so small and adorable!

Most Hit-type cameras that were produced are identical except for their names, similar to Diana cameras and the dozens of Diana clones. This particular camera is called the Kent. It's very simple to operate - a lever on the lens is the shutter release, and there's a smal switch that changes your shutter speed from Instant to Bulb. The camera is loaded by pushing up on the metal bar on one end of the camera. The film advance knob only turns in one direction. There is a red frame number window on the back of the camera so you can see how far to advance your film.

The shutter on the Kent isn't working properly right now. Every once in a while it will fire correctly, but I suspect it needs some lubrication or adjustment. Also, one small piece of leatherette on the front of the camera needs to be reglued. Please keep these things in mind before purchasing this camera.

The Kent also comes with its original leather field case, which is in great condition, and three rolls of Merry brand panchromatic film. The film box has been opened, but the three rolls of film inside are wrapped tightly in foil. There is no expiration date on the film - I'm guessing that it probably dates back to around 1960. Film is not guaranteed to still be usable, but you could respool some trimmed down film onto the backing paper and spools if you wanted.

Little Lego man is shown for scale and is not included. :)

Camera size - 2.25" x 1.25" x 1.25"
Camera weight - 1.5 oz.
