Vintage Lane 40s Bryant Full Length Dressing Gown - Crisp White Dotted Swiss - Long Robe

A spectacular Vintage Late 40's Dressing Gown.
beautifully constructed...
Of a sheer, light weight Cotton.. with little dots ..Dotted Swiss.

The design is quite Victorian in styling.
A Sailors Collar - or bib falls from the back of the collar..
and the Gown is nicely lapeled in front.
A series of hooks fasten with tiny little threaded "eyes".
And several sweet patches of Lace form belt loops to hold a ribbon about the waist.

The sleeves are slightly belled and cuffed.
And it all is edged in cut fabric lace.

When Laid Flat:
Shoulder Seams across: 17".
Front at waist from Belt Loops across: 29".
Back at waist from Belt Loops : 22".
When cinched at the waist, quite a full gown.
Sleeve Length from shoulder seam to cuff: 17".
Length of gown from shoulder seam to hem: 57".

an old label.. white threads on white- and nearly impossible to read in a pic:
Lane Bryant
25 W.36th St
New York

beautifully kept all these years... and the cloth is still quite white.
The fabric is sturdy - as are all the seams.
There is one small spot that was remarkably well repaired long ago...on the shoulder.
It's very hard to spot.
All hooks work and fasten.
And there is a spot on one of the belt loops where the lace has a small hole.
Also hard to spot.

A perfect Summer or Spring Robe!
Glorious morning!
