What a find from my attic! I have a collection of teapots that I had displayed on a shelf in my farmhouse kitchen over 20 years ago. When I found them recently in the attic I had no idea that one of them was a musical Tilso porcelain teapot made in Japan!

When you wind it up the teapot plays "Tea for Two". What is so special is that it plays only when lifted off the table while you're pouring the tea. When you set it down it stops playing. There is a little stem on the bottom that controls that. Very usuable for hot tea....just rinse it out instead of submerging to clean.

Made of all porcelain with handpainted flowers and (I am assuming) 22K gold trim, it is in excellent condition without chips, cracks or crazing. There is some wear on the gold of the handle where your thumb holds it and on the very top of the cover. It is a weighty, solid piece.

She measures:
from handle to spout - 9 1/2"
height - 6 1/2"
width across the top - 6"

****Because it is difficult to estimate shipping not knowing where the package is going, the shipping rate is averaged for all points in the US from New York state. If you live in the northeast, PA, OH, the shipping could be much lower, sometimes as much as half. Please send me a conversation before purchasing with your zipcode so that I can give you a more accurate shipping rate.
