Portland Maine Photographs include snapshots of major buildings in the early 20th century: Union Station, Fidelity Building. Portland High School, Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Monument Square, Post Office, Pythian Temple.

Here are some memorable buildings of early 20th century Portland Maine. Alas, some have disappeared. A particular loss is the old Union Station. But the Soldiers and Sailors Monument is still there, albeit with some different surroundings.

The pictures were taken sometime in 1910 and are mounted on a single page taken carefully from a huge old black scrapbook or photo album.
