This plaid dress for Kirsten is modeled after her gingham birthday dress. The subdued purple plaid fabric has rows of hearts and leaves woven into the fabric. The weaving process left longish threads on the wrong side of the fabric so to insure that Velcro wouldn't snag those threads I used snag-free Velcro on the dress back. The dress features a simple round neckline. The full sleeves have off-white trim at the edges. Kirsten’s mother would not have used elastic to gather the lower edges of her sleeves but would have used drawstrings. The small bow on the sleeves is there to simulate those drawstrings. The dress can be worn with or without the separate pinafore. The unbleached muslin pinafore has off-white trim around the edges. There is a non-functioning button sewn on top of the Velcro. The hair ribbons are included.

I offer several other options for mid-1800 styles in the "Historical 1854, 1864" section of my shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/terristouch?section_id=5506837

Please note the following:
1. Although I made this outfit to fit 18” dolls such as those sold by American Girl, Gotz, Our Generation or Springfield Collection I am not affiliated with those companies.
2. My home is pet free and smoke free.
3. The doll, shoes and dress form in the photos are for display purposes only and are not for sale.
4. All seams that would fray have been serged.
