For normally daily care just vacuum it 2-3 times in a week. Keeping the rug dust free and clean enhance its colors and it aged really well. -If you spill a drink on it, just put little water and clean it up with dry napkin. -If you spill hot chocolate, Coffee or any other Caffeine drink, then immediately put warm water with any soap or shampoo and scrub it with clean dry cloth. Do this 1-2 times. Do not let the drink dry on the rug.
