A.P.C. & Co. "Union" double daguerreotype case with original paper labels. Pre-Civil War U.S. Patent date of 1856.

It measures 2" by 2 1/8" and is 7/8" thick when closed. In good shape with some aging. No chips or cracks, just minor surface imperfections that were part of the manufacturing process. It closes tightly and the inserts fit snugly.

Interesting and ornate pattern on front and back.
