This very unique milk glass piece was made in the 1950's and can be used in multiple ways. It can be used as a raised fruit bowl, a footed jelly dish, and even a low basket without the base. This is the only example that I have come across, in any color of glass, that still has the base piece with it. It came from the estate of a friend who also provided us a ledger that contained a description of this piece.

The ledger reads, "Milk glass oblong fruit bowl on separate stand that may be reversed and used as footed jelly dish. Gift from Mack and kids in late 1950's purchased from Sumner's Furniture Store, Hurricane." The Hurricane refers to my hometown of Hurricane, WV. The furniture store is no longer there, but this piece lives on and is in very good condition.

The only flaw that I could find was a partially chipped tooth in two locations. I took a close up of the larger one, and you can barely see it. The piece is very large, weighing 5.5 pounds. It stand 9" tall and is 7 1/2" wide by 14 1/2" long. It was made by Kemple Glass of East Palestine, Ohio. The piece was made from McKee's mould #414 from their Innovation Cut line. The mould dates back to around 1917.
