A vintage Art Deco gemstone scarab bracelet probably from the 1930's. It is marked on the spring ring 1/20 12K GF. Stones include blue lace agate, amethyst, jade, lapis lazuli, carnelian, moss agate, and rose quartz. Bracelet is 7.25 inches long and is in good vintage condition. The scarabs are approximately 9x13mm and each scarab has a hand carved symbol on the back. It could use cleaning but I will leave that up to the buyer.

The Egyptians regarded the scarab as sacred because it signified new life. The scarab beetle was a symbol of Khepera, the rising sun god. The beetle moves from east to west which mimics the path of the divine god Ra as he rolls across the sky each day. For this reason, the scarab was also seen as a symbol of the heavenly cycle of rebirth and regeneration.
