This style of apron was popular during the Regency era, and follows the high empire waist of the period. I first fell in love with them when I saw one in the TV series 'Regency House Party' filmed in 2004 for Channel 4, UK. There have also been movies such as 'Sense and Sensibility' with Emma Thompson wearing one very similar.

This apron is very elegant, with narrow shoulder straps, a front rectangular upper bib, and then 3 panels in the skirt part, which covers as much of your dress as possible, right around the back. The skirt part is fairly full, with gathers under the waistband. The ties form part of the apron.

This apron is made with a heavy weight linen, and is all machine sewn, with flat felled seams. The fabric is certainly a mix of sorts. I have had it in my stash for a wee while, and can't remember what the fibres are. It is a little on the rough side, so I am fairly sure that it is wool, but sadly not 100% sure! The colour is a tan, or light brown.

Measurements:
Front bib~ 11 1/2" x 6"
Skirt from bottom of waistband to hem~ 35"
Total from shoulder to hem~ 45"
*this will fit a lady with a bust approx 34-38"

Washing note: Cool machine wash please.
