This amazing teapot was fired in a wood burning kiln to temperatures above 2350F. It was placed on the top shelf in the middle of the kiln and got absolutely blasted by heat and ash on one side, and collected the path of the flames on the other side. The blasted side turned gray and matte, with some subtle ash drips in the middle and a bluish hue to the gray. The other side turned red, orange, yellow, and gray from the flame licking around the pot. Some ash also ran down the handle and dripped around the spout, leaving a nice greenish glossy trail. The liner glaze is white with some blue drops from a previous glaze.

This teapot was made with a built-in strainer so you will not need a tea infuser to use loose leaf tea with it. It's still good with bagged teas, of course. This teapot is non toxic, and is food, dishwasher, and microwave safe. It measures about 8 1/4" tall, about 8" wide including the spout, and holds 5 cups.
