This fabulous souvenir piece is by the famed ceramic company "Booths" and is the most luscious shade of teal. This is the color of the mediterranean ocean. This tea cup and saucer was a souvenir at the Australian Pavilion and is dated on the saucer of 1924. This cup and saucer is quite rare as they don't often come in such bold beautiful statement colors. There are a few manufacturer flaws such as "overspray" of the paint on the saucer and two small pin prick spots of missed color on the cup (see pic 5). The inside of the cup has the familiar deck of cards and reads along the inside top edge of the cup, "The Cup of Knowledge" with each word separated by a scroll design, which is all the rage again, now.

This is a unique piece and would be the conversation starter at any party. If you collect these cups, this is a wonderful piece to add to your collection. If you are interested in ready tea leaves or coffee grounds, this would be a great cup to use as well. If you have a shabby chic or teal accented decor, this would be a fabulous display piece to mix in. This is a standard size tea cup and saucer set.
