This lovely little chair measures 17" tall (seat is 7"), 8" wide and deep. We have shown it with our beautiful 22" baby doll for size reference. He is not included in this listing.

Made of fine-grained wood with nice details and solid construction. The turned spindles end in small acorns and the splat is decorated with a lithographed print of a child pulling a sled. The seat is screen-printed with a black pattern resembling caning.

In very nice condition with age associated wear. Based on the this and the costumes of the costumes of the child depicted we estimate the date to the mid to late 1800's.

Both the splat and the thin wooden seat slip into slots in the frame. The seat has warped slightly and does not fit into the back slot. We will not force it as it is stable as is. The print is worn and has faded.

Due to the rather delicate nature of this piece we would not recommend it for small children.
