This first edition miniature book by Aunt Laura was published in 1863 and is marked with an "A" for first edition. This teeny tiny book is a hard relief cover ( possibly leather) and is part of about 10 books written by Aunt Laura. Who would ever guess they never asked Aunt Laura's last name? IT seems that it was really Frances Elizabeth Barrow that wrote a series of books by Aunt Fanny and Aunt Laura. This tiny book ( 1 7/8" x 1 1/2") has been well read and used. BUT it is such a rare treasure to find that you can pretty much look its condition.
The story goes that a little boy is given a toy ship an warned not to play with it after sunset. Of course he does and is then taken away in the adventures of the dreadful child Island.
Published in Buffalo by Breed and Butler.
