I painted this beetle on a library card catalogue card for the book “Beetles, Lightly Toasted.” I wouldn't advise trying to eat this lovely little emerald, black and gold beetle with outstretched wings. Graphite shadowing makes him look even more three-dimensional.

The beetle is done with gouache, metallic pigment gold watercolor and archival illustrator's pen. This is a one-of-a-kind painting on a real 3 x 5 inch card. This will take you back to the days of hunting for books using a card catalogue, before a library's holdings were all listed on a computer.

Ships within 1-3 days of receipt of order in a stiff cardboard photo mailer.

These cards look wonderful displayed on bookshelves, mantels, end tables, desks or set up with collections of books — especially vintage books.
