This is a vintage 1960s hand made quilt from the Butler county area of Pa. This sunny beauty is done in the ever popular Dresden plate pattern and each plate is set against a luscious lemony yellow background. The plates are made of varying fabrics with golden yellow centers and black embroidered edges. It has a triple border of gold and a light milk chocolate brown color. Just inside the rows of border is a wide swath of rope quilting. There is more decorative quilting between each plate, and the edges have straight line quilting in a diamond cross pattern. The quilting averages about 6 SPI.

This is signed and dated: Betty, 1963. Most of the material is cotton, but there may be some cotton blends as well.

The condition is superb - this was either never used, or very lightly used. It is clean and crisp with many pencils lines still visible. It measures about 75" wide and 92" long. It will fit a double bed well, and with good dust ruffle may possibly be used even on a queen bed.
