Description

SEASHELL print Sale in my shop, was $14.00, now $12.50. See all photos. Others to pair with available! Note: The first photo in each of these plate listings was taken in the best light and shows the truest colors. Prints are not washed out as they appear in some photos.
Also, the dark spot you will see on the bottom right close to the image on many of the photos of these plate listings is not on the print itself. This kept happening with the flash today when I would photograph up close. Let's just say it was a tough camera day...

About 8 years ago I won two of these bookplates in an auction.Being a seashell lover I fell in love with the details and softness of the colors in these treasures. They look amazingly gorgeous framed! I had them framed and I have been looking to find some more. I found some and was thrilled! Though they are watercolors, they have more of an oil look to me. These are beautiful little paintings!

This listing is for Plate I, Murex. Actual image measures 4 11/16" by 6 7/16". Page is 8" by 11". Print is from 1945. There are 6 rust tiny holes on left edge where it was attached to a book. On the top and right edge is some discoloration, a dark gray shadowing. On a couple of spots it comes in 1/2" and 1". This would easily be covered by mat and frame and still have a nice clean border around the print. No creasing, tears, or bends. Will be glad to send more close up pics. Just convo me.
See more info below!

The artist is P.A. Roberts. The backgrounds have varying degrees of shading ranging in color from gray, blue gray, taupe, gray green, olive green. Since they all have a hint of soft gray within the shade you could really put any of them together.
I have a total of 15 of these I am listing. Many look good together for a pair or grouping. The sizes of the actual printed images varies on some but they are close enough in size that you can make use of the cream border and make them work. As an example of this, I have shown you the two that I have that are framed that had different size images. If you are interested in more than one, I will be glad to take some photos of some that go well together so you can see them together. Just convo me with the ones you like most!
These adapt well to beach cottage, traditional, mod or formal decor as nature prints like these, with a cabinet of curiosities flavor, are timeless. And of course would look great with shabby chic decor! They would even work in an industrial loft. You would just need to frame them to fit in with the style you want.
The pages themselves measure 8" by 11".
**Condition: One one edge you can see a trio of tiny double holes and a slightly rough edge where the plates were once attached to a book. They have varying levels of discoloration around the edges, some more than others. On some prints the discoloration comes in an inch or more from the edge. This discoloration is not next to the image and can easily be covered when you mat and frame. If you don't want the expense of a mat, you could trim it to the size you want to omit the discolored part. Convo with any questions! I tried to take good photos so you can see the edges.

Shipping is for mainland U.S. Convo for Alaska, Hawaii, or OUTSIDE U.S. I always do my best to give shipping discounts for multiple purchases if the items can be safely mailed together, which can easily be done with more than one of these prints. I can not reflect the shipping discounts on my chart because I have such a variety of items in my shop. Convo for quote and I can change the shipping for you or you can check out and I can refund thru Paypal if I am able to save you any. I know I can definitely save shipping on two or more of these 8" by 11" prints.
