Handcrafted porcelain, serving plate made on the potter's wheel. Thrown and altered plate high fired to 2265 degrees f. Plate is brushed with a thick porcelain clay while on the wheel and brushed to form a swirl to capture the motion of the wheel, then accented with trailed slips and a turquoise blush. Glaze colors run from gunmetal to matte green, to blue and turquoise with a splash of gloss watercolor green in the center.

These altered plates are fun to make, and versatile. Use them to serve to and I think they will look good on the dinner table. The soda surfaces are getting to be exactly what I am hunting for, and I look forward to making many more.
