Item details

Vintage from the 1940s

From 1943 until 1950, Coro of New York had a business arrangement with Hector Aguilar in Taxco. Jewelry made at Aguilar's shop under this agreement was marked Made in Mexico, Coro, Silver or Silver, Coro, Mexico per information in Bille Hougarts's book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks.
This is a fine example of Hector Aguilar's design with the Coro hallmark. Marked Coro in script surrounded by Made in Mexico silver. The brooch is 3-1/4" long. There is a ripple in the pin stem that does not affect closing.
