I have been plant dyeing now for almost ten years and love how no two pieces are ever the same. It is always somewhat a surprise to see how the felt takes the dye.

This offering is for FIFTEEN (!) (approximate) 8x9 inch squares. They are not 'exactly square' since the process of mordanting and dyeing tends to effect each piece a little differently. The nine pieces here are dyed in cochineal, brazilwood, madder, safflower, osage orange, indigo, logwood, lac, cutch and one overdyed piece in osage orange and indigo. Giving a full rainbow for you to use in your crafts. Some pieces mottle a little as they are want to do in the dye pots - this only furthers them in their uniqueness and beauty. (Please enlarge the third photo and look at the dark indigo - doesn't it look like the night sky with a cloud going by?!)

I do have larger pieces (approx 18 inch square for $14) available if you want to convo me - if there is a particular color assortment you need please fee free to convo me. I dye only small batches until the pot is exhausted. I sell my felt to Waldorf schools and nurseries and use it myself in my own craft making. This felt is a little thicker than other varieties I have seen and has held up great to years of abuse from my children. Also I have been able to needle felt onto it - making it the most versitle felt I have found. Please check my shop for purses, fairies, birthday crowns and capes all made from my felt! Thank you for looking.
