Ship. Shape Style.
This vintage 1980s Brooks Brothers nautical dress is right on trend. This is the cutest sailor girl's dress! In fantastic condition barring a few teeny tiny spots on the white piping on the front neckline. Dress has shoulder pads underneath lining. Priced accordingly. Bargain.
Brooks Brothers is known as THE suit retailer, at least that's how it was referred to when I lived in Washington, D.C. (Brooks Brothers did provide Lincoln with his coat for his second inauguration.) The company has had lots of firsts in its retail history: the first ready-made suits in America in 1845; seersucker in 1930; the first American retailer to manufacture argyle hose in 1949. Brooks Brothers opened its first store in 1818 in New York City, making it America's oldest retailer. From the beginning, Brook Brothers ethos, as stated on the company's website was "to make and deal only in merchandise of the best quality, to sell it at a fair profit only and to deal only with those who seek and are capable of appreciating such merchandise."
History/Backstory: A Vintage Virginia find.
Condition: Very Good barring the few teeny tiny spots on the white piping on the front of the neckline. There is a blue-ish dot and a few brown specks. Please see Photo 5. I have not tried to spot clean nor have I had it dry cleaned. Please convo if you would like additional photos. These small flaws do not stand out and they do not take away from the overall appearance and fabulousness of the dress.

Care: Dry Clean Only.
(All measurements are taken with the garment lying flat and all buttons buttoned, zippers zipped....you get the idea. Measurements are doubled where appropriate, i.e. for bust, waist, hips. Measurements are in inches. I still haven't mastered the metric system.)
