This vintage tooled leather purse is at least from the 1970s, possibly much older. It is a gorgeous detailed piece with a lovely weathered and worn appearance. The leather is a chestnut brown/rust color and is carved with a floral pattern and has leather whipstitch edging.

It measures approx. 11” long and 8 ½” high. The width of the purse when closed is about 2 ½”. There are two ¾” wide handles that are about 22” long. .The toggle closure on the front of the purse is gold tone metal. There are two zippered pockets on the inside. This is a very old, weathered purse with lots of surface wear. There are marks, scratches, discolorations, etc. to the leather and to the metal findings. The interior pocket zippers are greenish in spots from oxidation and the chain pull on one of them is missing the part on the end. Overall, it is fair condition and a nice, sturdy bag. The zipper pull that is complete is inscribed “Talon”.

*interesting tidbit on the purse: Though I don’t know for sure when the purse was made, I know that it was worn in the mid seventies because wedged deep inside one of the pockets was a tiny newspaper clipping of an obituary and on the other side was part of political campaigning that mentions Ford. I will leave the clipping in the purse, for those that like a bit of history with their vintage items *
