This amazing late 1800's Victorian Jewel Case was a special gift from C. Schmidt to Miss P. Heywood as inscribed on the gilt cartouche on the top of this wooden box. I would love to know their story...

The insides are dramatic and actually have royal curtains drawn back as if a stage for the ladies Jewels. Lined with red velvet and French metallic trim and satin ruching this box has many keepsake compartments. A place for manicure implements. Also a pin cushion. This grand box looks wonderful the way it is. The compartment lids have sweet little "buttons" for handles. The curtains reveal an old lithograph. There is no working key. An old stain is on the floor of this beautiful box.

This is an old un-restored box in antique but structurally good condition. The dimensions of this box are 8 1/4" by 11 1/2" by 4" tall.
