SUBJECT: This small vintage horse figurine, circa 1950s or 1960s, is numbered 1123 on his fawny belly. I call him "Little Matty Bay" because of his mostly matte finish. No maker is identified, but the look of his hand-painted eyes suggests Japanese craftsmanship, possibly from Enesco or Norcrest, to me. One of things I love about old figurines like this are the nuances of color and glazing that make each statue unique. Little Matty Bay is no exception. Study the pictures to appreciate the intricate shading of his mane, where his bay coat blends up into his black mane in a lovely, interesting way.

ITEM DETAILS: This 1950s or 1960s vintage figurine measures 4.25 inches long by 3.75 inches tall. He's in very good condition, free of cracks, chips or crazing, with a firing blister on the underside of his tail being his one flaw. Look at photo 2 to see that whiteish bump.

SHIPPING & HANDLING: Three-dimensional objects are always well-protected with bubble wrap and peanuts to be shipped in secure packaging within two business days of purchase.

VINTAGE: All vintage and antique items have unique histories and are offered for sale in exactly the condition they were found. They are sold “AS IS.”
