Engagement ring with a princess cut moissanite, set in a half bezel setting that mimics the appearance of a tension set gem stone. The solitaire setting grows seamlessly out of the slightly rounded ring shank.

The setting looks similar to a tension setting but has a small metal bridge connecting the 2 ring sides underneath the gem stone. The bridge is invisible from the top. It is more secure than a typical tension setting as it does not rely on the springiness of the metal alone to hold the moissanite. It also allows for resizing in the future (about one size up or down). The setting holds the gemstone securely while allowing lot's of light to enter from the sides to bring out more of the amazing sparkle of this moissanite. The ring will be carved out of wax, cast and hand finished.

The faceted lab created gem stone is hand set and the ring has a mirror polished finish. The band width is about 3 mm. Height above the finger about 6 mm. The faceted princess cut Moissanite is 5 mm square. The stone has an amazing sparkle and fire.

I do offer 2 moissanite options (measuring 5mm only): 0.71ct Standard moissanite (ST. Moiss in drop down menu) or the whiter 0.64ct Forever Brilliant Moissanite (FB Moiss in drop down menu). Smaller moissanites (4mm and 4.5mm) are available too as custom orders, please contact me for a quote.

Listing is for solitaire ring only. ** Please specify ring size in message to seller.** Available in sizes 4 to 9. For larger sizes price may vary. Please contact me for quotes if you prefer a different ring shank width.

Metal Options:

Silver/Palladium: http://www.etsy.com/listing/93444525/princess-cut-moissanite-modified-tension

Palladium 950PD: (up to size 9)
About palladium (950PD): Palladium is naturally white metal and will not tarnish. Like platinum, palladium does not require rhodium plating and will maintain its bright white color indefinitely. Palladium rarely causes allergic reaction. It is very durable and even outlast white gold. It is a great choice for engagement or wedding rings at a lower price than white gold.

14k Yellow Gold / 18k Yellow Gold (up to size 9)
Classic yellow gold that provides durability and timeless appeal. 14k gold is made up of 58.3% gold and 41.7% other metals, 18k gold is made up of 75% gold and the rest other metals. 14k has a medium yellow color - not as rich yellow as 18k yellow gold with it's higher gold content. The other metals are copper and silver. There is no nickel in these alloys.

14K Palladium white gold/ 18K Palladium white gold: (up to size 9)
Nickel free white gold that does not need rhodium plating. It has a warm gray hue (it will not match your rhodium plated white gold jewelry). Palladium white gold is an alternative for people being allergic to standard nickel white golds.

Platinum: (up to size 8.5)
Platinum is a naturally white metal that will not tarnish in air. It does not require rhodium plating to maintain whiteness. Platinum is considered being Hypoallergenic. It has a greater wear resistance compared with white gold in terms of metal loss and is very durable.
Being one of the densest elements on earth, rings in platinum are heavier than gold or palladium rings. All precious metals will scratch, however, when platinum scratches, it tends to displace rather than lose metal weight. It will develop a patina like appearance with wear and can easily be re-polished to it's original shine. Your platinum jewelry will outlast other precious metal jewelry and hold stones in place more securely.

Please select your metal choice from the material drop down menu.

Moissanite is a lab-created near-colorless, extremely durable jewel with brilliance and fire that outshines even diamonds. It is a popular alternative to more expensive diamonds. It has a hardness of 9.25, harder than sapphires and emeralds and only topped by diamonds. Unlike diamonds, which are carbon, Moissanites are silicon carbide (SiC), a very rare, naturally occurring mineral found primarily in meteors. Commercially available moissanites are lab created by only one firm: Charles & Colvard. In 2012 C&C came out with a slightly whiter moissanite, the Forever Brilliant moissanite. They are more expensive than the standard moissanites. More info: http://www.charlesandcolvard.com/our-brands/product-lines/forever-brilliant-top-quality-moissanite-gemstones
