This is a newer cup idea I have been working on lately. It is similar to my other teacups but there are extra carving steps involved to achieve the "segmented" look on the faces of the cup. Initially I throw this form on the wheel leaving the sides thick, and then I shave them back to define the square shape. Later I then carve away some clay with hand tools in order to create the different planes on the face of the mug. I have finished this cup with a two tones glaze motif to enhance the "segments"
