This Hardcover Book features more than 900 pages of very useful information. It has a wonderful thumb guide on the side (finger tabs) for the different sections mentioned below. Some fascinating reading, includes Menus, Table Setting,Breads & Sandwiches, Appetizers & Soups, Fish & Meats, Fowl Entrees, Eggs & Cheese,Vegetables & Salads, Cakes & Cookies, Candies & Desserts, Ice Creams & French Recipes, Beverages & High Altitude Cooking, Jellies & Canning, Wine & Party. The last section is "Wartime Cookery" which provides information in dealing with food shortages.It even includes "How to feed a family of 5 on $20.00 a Week!". Some very fascinating recipes include, Roast Opossum, Pigeon Pie to a Wedding Cake that makes 24 Lbs of Cake. There are some interesting ingredients mentioned, for instance, making your own Buttermilk...using milk and adding a "Buttermilk Tablet". I wonder where I would find that nowadays. Blue Cloth Bound with some shelf wear to cloth bound edges. No dog eared pages. Copyright date of 1944. Measures 8 1/4" x 5 3/4". Third photo shows a tear on inside cover color photo.
