Find the details that might not show up at first. It's a mix of urban and rural. The Doghouse tavern on Whidbey Island and the Brewery in Seattle and incorporated together in this mixed media collage painting.

Some of the ingredients in the original art are acrylic paints, collage techniques and ephemera. There is a shell phone booth from the Langely, South Whidbey marina; the VW Bus was a photo I took a while ago by the Post Office / coffee shop in Langley; a Seattle Brewery a photo taken on Interstate 5, in the car southbound; the fish was in a vintage magazine; the nautical chart by Whidbey and Saratoga Passage; a life ring from the WA ferry MV Tokitae and more.

There have been changes to the Doghouse tavern building, and it's currently closed as a tavern...just in case you were planning a drive to it.
