Milk thistle is a common garden plant often considered a weed but (like most weeds) has many healing benefits. Milk thistle was first used over 2000 years ago to induce lactation in new mothers; it was included in Renaissance herbal collections as useful to "expel melancholie" (Gerard 1597), as a "friend to the liver and bloode" (Westmacott 1694), and good for obstructions of the liver and spleen, for jaundice, and for kidney stones (Culpeper 1653). Modern lore considers it an excellent remedy for warts; milk thistle powder (derived from the seeds) is still in use in herbal treatments today.

A sweet little wrist cuff of milky whites and dusty pink- layers of raggedy-edged antique lace and cotton partners with a collection of antique buttons and milk glass nail heads. Backed with hand-dyed 100% merino wool felt and closing with a toggle clasp in mustard yellow, made by the incomparable missficklemedia. Two glass beads provide detail, one is an artisan made lampwork which is much better in real life than the pictures show!

The cuff measures almost 8 inches long (including clasp) and an inch at the widest.
