This bow measures 64" from tip to tip and it pulls 40 pounds at 30" draw. It was hand carved from a single piece of hickory. After carving, the tips were steamed for an hour each and then bent to achieve the recurved tips.

The bow has a layer of elk sinew backing as well as a layer of bison sinew backing. To protect the sinew backing, and to create a natural camouflage, two western diamondback rattlesnake skins were glued over the sinew. The skins join at the center of the bow under the elk skin handle. This leather handle is sewed on in a crossing stitch pattern.

Finally, the bow was stained a darker hue, a vibrant red band was painted on each limb to add a little color, and the recurved tips were wrapped with glue-soaked imitation sinew. A resilient, dacron string or a more traditional looking flemish string is included.

This bow is fully functional, but could also be used as a wall hanger.
