A rare piece of Mod watercolor art from the legendary painter Vera Neumann. There are so few scarves like this left on the planet... the extra large size and pure silk fabric make it super special.

One of the country's first self-made woman millionarires, Vera founded her company at her kitchen table in the 1940's. She believed that great art should be worn and used, not just seen, and that it should be accessible to all.

This gorgeous piece of Vera op-art is a perfect example of her Mod work from the late 1950's. A bold, watery, geometric design of brilliant blue lapis lazuli color crashes into thick, pure silk. A bold border of light blue color tailors the look, no matter how you choose to wear it. Beautiful hand-rolled hems hold the edge and reveal the quality of a Vera scarf.

Measures 30" square. Made in Japan with pure silk... so smooth, fine and elegant.

Nice vintage condition... 4-5 small patches of dark yellow stain, like a marker, will probably not wash out, but do little to detract from the overall beauty.
