There are not many Vera scarves from the 1950's still left on the planet. And even fewer ones that are huge, so beautifully painted, made with parachute silk, and in amazing condition!

This particular painting is among Vera's earliest examples of her Japanese sumi-e brushwork.

Perfectly painted sienna brown cherries fruit over creamy white silk. Expertly hand-rolled hems show the pride, quality and care that create a Vera scarf.

Made in Japan with Vera's rare "water-repellent" pure silk. Measures a huge 32" square - among Vera's largest size. Perfect for wrapping a zillion different ways.

Excellent vintage condition... with the exception of 3 tiny pinholes, I would call it MINT.

(ref# 3-35bs-12)
